Great Poetry Race Winners for last week.

Our winners this week were Precious Lewis and Christian Bradley. Both students worked really hard in getting signatures. All the students are getting involved so they can try and be the winner for the week. Please continue to encourage your child to read to someone every day.

November 14-18

This week will be reading the story "A Turkey for Thanksgiving." This is an animal fatasy about animals coming together for Thanksgiving dinner and Mrs. Moose really wants a turkey for dinner. Mr. Moose goes out and finds her one. Ask your child how the story ends. Our vocbulary words are: Thanksgiving, hooves, riverbank, lumbered, dine, holiday, participate, decorate, banquet, flare, glimmer, whispery. Our vocabulary and reading tests will be on Friday.

Please remember to keep practicing and studying the spelling lists each night.

Students reading their poems!!

Fact Families

Today the students worked on fact families. They took a deck of cards and turned two over at a time. They then had to add the two to get a sum. Once they had their three numbers they then created two addition and two subtraction problems using the three numbers in that family. They also created houses with their fact families. They really enjoyed this activity and did an awesome job!!
